WHAT THIS IS

A free tool that looks at your PC or laptop and writes you a
simple report about it in plain English.

It is handy if you have ever been asked "how much memory does it
have?" and had no idea where to look.

HOW TO USE IT

  1. If you have not unzipped the download yet, do that first.
Right-click the ZIP file, choose "Extract All", then
"Extract", and open the folder that appears.

  2. Double-click RUN_ME

  3. Windows will ask for your permission. Click YES.

  4. Wait about a minute. You can leave it alone while it works.

  5. Your report will open in your web browser.

SENDING IT TO US

At the end it will offer to email the report to us. Say yes and
it sets the whole email up for you - you just drag the report
file onto it and press send.

If you would rather do it yourself, email:

      Billy@shrewsburytech.co.uk

and attach the file from the "Reports" folder that sits next to
RUN_ME. It is the one whose name starts with PC-Report_

There is no charge for us reading it and telling you what we
  think.

WHAT IT DOES TO YOUR COMPUTER

Nothing. It reads information and writes a report.

    - It does not install anything
    - It does not change any settings
    - It does not delete anything
    - It does not keep running afterwards
    - It does not send anything anywhere unless you choose to

You can delete this whole folder afterwards and nothing will be
  left behind.

WHY DOES WINDOWS ASK FOR PERMISSION?

Your battery's true condition and your hard drive's internal
health readings can only be read with administrator permission.
That is a Windows rule rather than our choice. The tool still
only reads - it does not change anything.

IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG

Windows says it will not run this file:
Click "More info", then "Run anyway". Windows is cautious
about anything downloaded from the internet.

  The email button did nothing:
That means there is no email program set up on this PC, which
is normal if you use Gmail or Outlook in a web browser. Just
email us yourself and attach the file from the Reports folder.

  Anything else:
Email us at Billy@shrewsburytech.co.uk and we will help you
    another way.

There is a longer version of all this in README.md if you want it.
